FALL FASHION WEEK: A STYLE GUIDE

FALL FASHION WEEK: A STYLE GUIDE

If I'm being completely honest, I feel as though Fall/Winter 2016 Fashion Week was made for me.  As you may or may not know, I'm obsessed with the black, white and blush color scheme; as if my blog wasn't a giveaway enough.  For fall, trends range from the edginess of leather to the simplicity of the pop of color blush pink brings to the interesting hemlines and necklines of the asymmetrical trend and beyond.  This fall, the trends are marvelous.  Not only are they wearable for any age, any body type and any style, but they aren't just exclusive to the couture and high end design houses, they've been seen throughout stores everywhere, including some of my ethical and sustainable favorites.  I know I'm ready for fall, are you?  Below, you'll find some outfit inspiration based on the Fall 2016 trends.

Cheers, to some great fashion indulgence.

TREND NO.1 | LEATHER

To me, leather is a style that NEVER goes out of style.  For both males and females, this obsession with the leather jacket started around the 1900's, being worn by males in combat, to stay warm.  But, in the past few years, the obsession over real leather has subsided and vegan leather has been becoming more popular, and thank goodness for that!  Now, we're able to enjoy the look and warmth of leather without having to feel guilty about the animal we harmed in the process.  Looking fabulous has never been more humane.

TREND NO.2 | PINK

Unlike past Fashion Week seasons, where we've seen pops of colors in more tertiary hues, (does Gucci Pre-Fall 2016 ring-a-bell to anyone?) the Fall/Winter 2016 collections carried their vibrancy in shades of pink.  With hues ranging from mauve and blush pink — my personal favorite — to the hues packed with punch, such as, hot pink.  This Fashion Week has proved that no matter your skin, hair or eye color there's a pink for everyone.  Which one will you be sporting?

TREND NO.3 | ASYMMETRICAL

Interesting hemlines and necklines are a must for any Fashionista.  Which is why when asymmetrical everything hit the runways during Fall/Winter 2016 Fashion Week, all of us street-style queens were rejoicing.  Not only do they add unique detail to an outfit, but they can instantly make any ensemble look twice as fashion forward.  Regardless if you're into rocking the off-the-shoulder or one-shoulder look, or you're more into the diagonal hemline, you'll earn huge style points by incorporating this trend into your wardrobe.

TREND NO.4 | LAYERING W/ "JUMPERS"

There's just something so 1995 Cher Horowitz about this look.  Whenever I see button-downs or turtlenecks layered underneath any sort of garment, my brain automatically thinks Clueless,  But as for Fall/Winter 2016 Fashion Week, labels such as Milly and Novis took the infamous jumper and made it "so modern" with peplum and all-neutral ensembles.  Clearly, jumpers aren't just reserved for our fashionable model-crush, Twiggy, they're making a comeback in today's 2000's, just waiting to be worn on the streets on trend-obsessed women everywhere.
