WHAT YOU SHOULD BE WEARING AT LOLLAPALOOZA
I get it, OK? Lollapalooza isn't Coachella, so what's a girl to wear? Well, seeing as though I am a Lollapalooza virgin, I decided to consult with an experienced Lollapaloozer on the style of this particular festival. My friend Alicia (check out her work here) told me that Lolla is the edgier, more grunge version of Coachella. And while we wish we could be dancing under the sunset, with mountains in sight and a ferris wheel in the distance on top of a desert, that's just not going to happen in the Midwest. Instead, we're dancing under the unsure-of-itself weather, with the Willis Tower in sight and Navy Pier in the distance on top of maybe cut, maybe not cut grass. Clearly, dressing as boho as possible just isn't ideal in a location where the beach is really just sand by a lake. But regardless and contrary to popular belief, Lollapalooza doesn't have to be the promiscuous sister of Coachella. Instead, it can still be a relatively classy affair to show Cali just how stylish us Midwesterners are.
FOR THE QUEEN OF EDGE
Some people can wear all black in the summer without anyone questioning their sanity as the sun beats down on their backs. If you're that person, then you're most likely the girl to edge things up a bit at Lollapalooza.
There's just something about a pair of distressed denim cutoffs that screams edgy to me. I'm not sure why, but it just does. When paired with an off-the-shoulder top, the classic denim shorts are taken up a notch and given major style points, because if you've been a little out of the loop, off-the-shoulder tops are all the rage at the moment. To finish off the look, add a statement belt with adornments for detail and a pair of platform sandals to amp up your look and your height.

FOR THE BOHO BABE
Florals, maxis and sheer skirts galore, the boho babe embraces the use of texture and prints. If you're the person who constantly wishes that your Midwest fest would turn into a crazy beach party, then this look is definitley for you.
You can never go wrong with a floral maxi dress, it's the best of all bohemian styles, When paired with strappy lace up sandals and a huge sunhat and sunnies, you'll immediately look like the ultimate festival gal. To finish off the look, try your hand at a braid-in hair piece, they're the sure-fire way to ignite any hairdo you may be incorporating into your ensemble.

THE CHICLY CASUAL
I envy the girls who can rock a pair of boyfriend jeans no matter what the occasion is. From pairing them with heels for a more dressy affair, to indulging in the street style vibes by adding a pair of adidas sneakers to the ensemble, the chicly casual girl knows how to take the simplest of pieces and incorporate them into the chicest of outfits.
Boyfriend jeans are the ultimate cool-girl pant. They kind of say "yeah, I woke up like this, but at the same time, I kind of tried today." When worn in a darker shade, they become the ultimate festival piece. To tone the jeans down a bit and to add those beachy vibes, a pair of espadrilles are the way to go. They're comfortable and chic and so in right now. Finish off the look with an off-the-shoulder-top and a layered necklace, and you're ready to dance all night!
