HOLIDAY GLOW | A MAKEUP TUTORIAL

HOLIDAY GLOW | A MAKEUP TUTORIAL

Fashion and lifestyle blogger? Yes.  Beauty blogger? Maybe.  As I was in the holiday spirit, I decided that I would do a makeup tutorial on my Holiday Glow makeup.  Though I am not a professional makeup artist, I do enjoy doing my makeup, and have learned some tips and tricks over the years that I have decided to share.

This makeup look is perfect for the holidays for two reasons:

1) It's soft and glowy... the perfect look for the holidays

2) Gold eye makeup is the perfect accent to pair with any outfit

This look may look like it took forever to achieve, but in actuality, it only took a couple of steps to accomplish.

STEP ONE: The Face

Apply a moisturizer to your entire face in order to keep your face makeup smooth and free of any dry or dead skin.

I use Alba Organics Even Advanced Moisturizer

Then take your favorite mattifying face primer, and apply to entire face to ensure your makeup stays on all day while preventing any oil to form on the surface of your face.

I use No.7 Beautifully Matte Face Primer

Next, take a foundation (I prefer powdered foundation), and apply to entire face to smooth and even out your complexion.

I use BareMinerals powder foundation in 'Fairly Light'

In order to ensure that your face stays matte, apply a powder to your T-zone.

I use Urban Decay's Naked Skin Pressed Powder in 'Naked Light'

Lastly, apply a blush and highlighter to cheeks and cheekbones to give a glowy finish.

I use BareMinerals powder Blush in 'Exhilarate' (similar 'Amused') and All-Over face powder in 'Clear Radiance'

STEP TWO: The Eye shadow

Apply a primer to eyelids to ensure that your eye makeup lasts all day and all night

I use Lorac Behind the Scenes eyelid primer

Then, I apply a shimmery-white/pink shadow to my entire lid

I use the Lorac Pro Palette in the color 'Champagne'

Next, I apply a shimmery-gold on top of the champagne eye shadow

I use the Lorac Pro Palette in the color 'Gold'

Then, I apply a light brown in my crease to add dimension

I use the Lorac Pro Palette in the color 'Mauve'

Lastly, to deepen up the eye shadows, I apply a dark brown to the outer half of my eye

I use the Lorac Pro Palette in the color 'Pewter'

STEP THREE: The Eyeliner

Take a soft kohl eyeliner, and line upper lash line and wing out slightly

I use the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in Zero

STEP FOUR: The Mascara

In order to get my eyelashes long and curly, I apply a mineral mascara that doesn't clump or dry out.

I use the ELF Cosmetics Studio Mascara in 'Mineral Infused'

STEP FIVE: The Lower Lashes

First, to brighten my eye, I put on a high-lightening eyeliner on my waterline.

I use NYX Cosmetics Wonderpencil in 'Light'

Then, I take the same eye shadow that I used in my crease, and apply it to the lower lashes on the outer half.

I use the Lorac Pro Palette in 'Mauve'

Lastly, I apply my mascara to my lower lashes, only sweeping the mascara on with one coat to prevent clumping.

I use the ELF Cosmetics Studio Mascara in 'Mineral Infused'
