COOL & HUMID | WHAT TO WEAR

COOL & HUMID | WHAT TO WEAR

For those of you living somewhere that's 80 degrees and sunny: I am genuinely jealous of you. Here in the Midwest, Mother Nature can't quite make up her mind, so we're stuck with cool temperatures and 95% humidity.  Chilly days call for layers, but humid air calls for barely-there clothing, but when the two mesh together, what's a girl to wear?

LOOK NO.1 - ROCK THEM PANTS

When your mind is in "summer", it's sometimes hard to want to pull on a pair of pants.  But when the weather can't make up its mind, a printed pair of trousers is the way to go.  Since most pairs of trousers are more cropped and made out of a lightweight material, it makes it easier to wear when the weather isn't ideal.  Plus, since the summer has been mostly overcast, you won't have to show off your un-tanned legs either!

LOOK NO.2 - EMBRACE THEM SWEATERS

I'm the type of person who rarely likes wearing tank tops.  Something about underarms being visible freaks me out.  So when I know it's going to be more humid outside, yet still chilly, I tend to wear sweaters.  And no, not the kind that are made out of cashmere or fake wool, but sweaters that are made out a more polyester and thin material.  My favorite type's of these sweaters are the ones that are oversized and tunic style.  Pair them with a cool pair of shorts, and you're good to go.

LOOK NO.3 - ADORE THEM KIMONOS

The best way to add some more warmth and coverage when it's cool in the summer, is to throw on a kimono.  The majority of kimonos are made out of extremely thin and sheer, silky material, allowing it to be the perfect layering piece that still allows your body to breathe.  And as an added bonus, if you're not sure what the weather is supposed to be like for the day, kimonos are a great piece for folding up neatly and putting in your purse... just in case.
