THE TOP 3 BEAUTY LOOKS FROM THE SPRING RUNWAYS (AND HOW TO RECREATE THEM)

THE TOP 3 BEAUTY LOOKS FROM THE SPRING RUNWAYS (AND HOW TO RECREATE THEM)

Alas, the weather is warmer which means that not only do fashions change, but so do beauty looks.  My main source of beauty inspiration is from the runways -- trust me the runway beauty teams know what they're doing -- and I thought I'd share the 3 BIGGEST BEAUTY TRENDS that were seen on the runway for Spring 2017.

SOFT SMOKEY EYES

I can't remember the last time a smokey eye has been in style — maybe it was around the time Jersey Shore was the bee's knees, and everyone and their mom was going out clubbing and covering their eyelids in black shadows and kohl liners.  But instead of the old-school smudgy look, the glam squad's behind designers like Dries Van Noten and Louis Vuitton gave models sultry yet soft makeup by using brown makeup instead of harsh black.  Try your hand at the soft smokey eye by brushing brown shadow all over your lid, then smudging out a chocolate brown liner along your upper lash line.  This look is perfect for a day out in the city, or a romantic late-night dinner.

NATURAL LOCKS

So long hairspray, hello texturizing spray.  Spring is all about embracing your natural locks, and instead of weighing down your hair with harsh products — like gels, serums, and hairsprays — give some texture to your 'do by spritzing on a sea-salt infused leave-in treatment.  Hair stylists gave models from Celine and Tommy Hilfiger loose waves that can be easily recreated with a comb, curling rod, and texturizing spray/dry shampoo.  This hairstyle is perfect for when you want to look naturally beauty, and don't have enough time to give yourself a Dry Bar-esque blowout.  The best part?  This look is best achieved on second-day-hair, so don't waste your time washing your locks — embrace the dirtiness.

STATEMENT LIPS

A pop of color can go a long way, especially when incorporated in primarily natural look.  Models on the Cushnie et Ochs and Acne Studio's runways donned bright and dark lip colors.  A bright red lip gave monochromatic looks a contemporary pop of color, while dark green lipstick gave a futuristic edge to pastel ensembles.  My favorite way to incorporate a bright lip color into my makeup routine?  Keep the rest of the face simple with minimal face makeup and simple eye makeup.
