PARIS FASHION WEEK 2015 | CHANEL, DIOR, & ELIE SAAB

PARIS FASHION WEEK 2015 | CHANEL, DIOR, & ELIE SAAB

Fashion is an art.  And as I have mentioned in a previous post, it is one of the most unique forms of it.  Paris Fashion Week 2015 (Spring/Summer), is no exception.  In addition to the beautiful and intricate designs, the venue was accessorized incredibly.

As I was scrolling through blogs and Instagram, trying to absorb as much Paris Fashion Week that I could while still being in the Midwest, I couldn't help but not only fall in love with the designs but with the location, and how the venue was not decorated to make a statement for itself, but to compliment the designs and designers all together.  It's amazing to me how designers think even beyond their fashions, and create an entire event masterpiece; creativity, as displayed at Fashion Week, blows my mind.

Per usual, I always have my favorite designers during this time of year.  Though my critique is hardly harsh, I do have some aspects in couture designs that catch my eye immediately.  I love intricate hemlines and detailing, such as pleating or asymmetrical-ness (is that even a word, I'm not sure, but I'm going to roll with it).  In addition to unique structure, I love when dresses are adorned with materials such as feathers, sparkles, or anything with texture.  I think that it adds a lot to a piece and grabs your attention.

My top 3 favorite show from this year, that fit into my critique "categories" are...

- CHANEL

- Christian Dior

- Elie Saab

No surprises there, those three have always been my favorite haute couture designers, and they never fail to impress me.

Starting of with CHANEL, Karl Lagerfeld's entire idea for what he wanted to show was very prominent.  From a setting of fun florals to monochromatic ensembles, CHANEL took the stage.  The outfits were not only stunning, but Lagerfeld took a whole new twist on crop tops, making them chic and sophisticated.

Here are a few of my favorites from CHANEL 2015, comment below your favorite picture.

Moving on to Christian Dior, can I just say that I was amazed by the creations presented at PFW.  They were incredibly unique, and had the artistic-ness of something that you would want to be displayed in your house.  Christian Dior's designs featured an abundance of details and textures, that overall made the outfits look complex.

Lastly, onto Elie Saab.  Debatably my favorite haute couture designer ever.  I have been keeping up with Elie Saab and his designs for as long as I can remember.  I first spotted his creations on Taylor Swift and later, on Chiara Ferragni.  Not only are his designs phenomenal, but they are incredibly gorgeous.  The way that he designs his gowns are so chic princess, that all you can do is stare at them.  And, let me tell you, I almost cried when I saw his collection for Spring/Summer this year.

Here are my favorites, what are yours?
